Why Study HereThis course provides a head start to College life and work, providing practical skills and knowledge.
Suitable For School pupils in Years 10 and 11 who want a practical taster course as an alternative to GCSEs.
Application Method Application through your school followed by interview
Entry Requirements You should be working towards GCSEs and must be referred by your school. Entry is by taster/selection and interview. You must have a good track record of attendance and behaviour.
Content / Overview Do you excel in a subject and can't wait to find out more? In exceptional circumstances you may be able to start a College course early instead of school. Content varies depending on course selected.
Delivery Method Practical and theoretical sessions at College.
Assessment Ongoing depending on course selected.
Progression Full-time post 16 courses or Apprenticeships.
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position. There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding.
