Qualifications

14-16 Skills Programme

This provides young people with the opportunity to do a practical taster course at College whilst still at school. You can choose from beauty, catering, childcare, construction, electrical installation, hairdressing, motor vehicle or plumbing. Courses are taken alongside GCSEs.

Early Bird

If school isn’t for you, or if you excel in a subject and can’t wait to find out more, then you may in exceptional circumstances be able to do a College course instead. The course content will vary depending on the course you choose.

14-19 Diploma Programme

The Diploma is a relatively new qualification for 14-19s, designed to provide a head start in working life. Diplomas combine essential skills and knowledge, hands on experience and employer-based learning to prepare you for your career or more study. Entry is through your school. In partnership with the Woking 14-19 Federation we offer the Construction and the Built Environment Higher Diploma and Hair and Beauty Higher Diploma.

Certificate Level 1

Certificates focus on a specific area of work. They are designed to provide specialist practical skills at an introductory level and help you move ahead.

City and Guilds Level 1

City and Guilds assess skills that are of practical value in the work place. The emphasis is on developing practical skills and knowledge.

CACHE Level 1

This introductory qualification is designed to stimulate interest in childcare and encourage your understanding of the skills and knowledge needed to care for young children.
