Why Study Here 
This course aims to provide practical experience and the essential underpinning knowledge required to become a beauty therapist. You will gain experience by working with fellow students and later with a wide range of and variety of models within the beauty therapy salons. You also attend shows and trips and will benefit from links to the industry. Work with high quality commercial products.

Entry Requirements 
4 GCSEs at grade C or above including English, Level 2 BTEC Diploma/First Diploma or equivalent for first year of the course. Successful completion will enable you to progress onto the second year. You will also need a good reference from school or college and interview plus a minimum record of 80% attendance.

Content / Overview 

Topics: Dermatology and microbiology, human anatomy and physiology, business studies, practical skills in beauty therapy to include manicure, pedicure, make-up, lash and brow treatments and waxing, facial therapy, body therapy, body massage plus specialist topics such as aromatherapy, hot stone therapy, Indian head massage and spa body therapy.



Delivery Method 
Practical and theoretical topics with an emphasis on assignments.

Assessment 
Assignments, practical work, projects, case studies and portfolio.

Progression 
Higher Education, work in salons, spas, on cruise ships or in complementary therapy.





All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position. There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding.
