Why Study Here Training is delivered in the workplace and 1 day a week in the College restaurant ‘The Parkroom’ where a college tutor will monitor your progress and conduct assessments.
Suitable For If you are interested in a hospitality or catering career, an Apprenticeship is a great way to get into the market and start a job role as a waiter, bar-person, cook, kitchen assistant, team member, chef or receptionist.

Entry Requirements You should be working in the industry and interested in developing your skills. Good GCSEs are an advantage.
Content / Overview This Apprenticeship covers a range of occupations within the hospitality and catering, one of the largest industries in the country. Hospitality and catering covers work in restaurants, hotels and holiday accommodation, cafes, pubs, and contract caterers. It also supplies other industries with food and drink.
This Apprenticeship covers many pathways and if you are interested in cookery, you could train as a chef and work anywhere from fine dining to chain restaurants and gastro pubs. You could also work ‘front of house’, serving customers food and drink. For the hospitality side of things, you could work in a hotel reception, learn to run a hostel or B&B, and work in housekeeping.

Homework You may have to complete sections of your portfolio outside of College or working hours.
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position. There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding.
