Entry Requirements 2 GCSEs at grade C and above including English Language.
Content / Overview Develop knowledge, skills and understanding of administrative practice necessary to work in a wide range of business roles. Topics include: making and receiving calls, welcoming visitors, handling mail, working in business administration, written business communication, communicate with customers, teamwork, financial transactions, organise travel and accommodation, organise meetings, supporting recruitment and selection procedures, verbal communication in business, support business meetings, organise a business event, reviewing and developing office procedures, carry out research and prepare a report.
Delivery Method Teaching and learning activities take place mostly in computer workshops and classrooms.
Assessment Assignments and external exams.
Progression Secretarial or junior/middle management positions. Progression might also be to the Level 3 Administraion courses in preparation for working with more senior management.

Additional Information This course includes a one week work experience placement.
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position. There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding.
