Application Method Application followed by individual interview
Entry Requirements The requirements for entry to the ACS course will fall into one of the following 3 categories: Category 1: An experienced gas fitting operative either seeking certificate renewal and/or assessment and certification to extend their work range. Category 2: Individuals with relevant gas experience and other individuals with relevant qualifications and experience in similar job disciplines, e.g.: Plumbers and Heating Engineers. Category 3: An individual without previous experience or entering the industry for the first time. Note: Candidates in this category must contact the college for further advice before proceeding further.
Content / Overview Coverage of all practical and theory issues for the safe installation and maintenance of gas in preparation for assessment.
Delivery Method Lecture and practical demonstrations and practice.
Assessment Practical and theoretical assessment.
Progression ACS CCNI Domestic Core Gas Safety Assessment.
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position. There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding.
