Disability Equality Scheme
1. Introduction
1.1 Guildford College passionately believes in equality for all. Guildford College is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for both staff and students. The College celebrates the diverse community and values individuals contributions. The College is committed to equality of treatment for all employees, whether or not they have a physical or any other impairment.
We recognise that we need to take account of staff and students' disabilities, even when that may involve treating them more favourably than others. The College will be an inclusive one, regardless of disability, race, age or gender.
The College strategic document 'Aiming for Excellence' 2005, revised 2006, sets out our commitments to Equality and Diversity and this theme runs throughout.
The Curriculum Strategy 2005, revised 2006, also clearly states the actions to be taken to support all students to succeed in their studies.
There is a Disability Statement, which provides easily accessible information, for students and staff concerning available support, how to access the College and relevant College information.
