Read about our student successes:
Animal Management National Diploma
Animal Management Students
A special delivery of rare kune kune piglets brought real life to lessons for animal management students. The seven piglets were born in front of a class during a lesson, bringing home the miracle of birth to the students.
Equine Courses
Equine Team
A team of riders from Merrist Wood were jumping for joy after scooping second place in a national competition held at Warwickshire College. They competed in dressage, show jumping and a quiz.
Floristry Higher Diploma
Floristry Students
A team of floristry students beat seven other colleges to take first place at the New Covent Garden Flower Market Inter College Competition. They received £500 of Flower Market vouchers and a day's work experience at top London florists McQueens.
Merrist Wood Arboriculture Department
The nation's favourite gardener Alan Titchmarsh helped celebrate 40 years of arboriculture at a special celebration and tree planting ceremony in October.
Rugby National Diploma
Merrist Wood Rugby Team
Won every match and topped the league and the competition in the Surrey FE regional 10s competition. Victory won despite the team meeting only a month before, coming from very different backgrounds, some with a history of poor discipline and behaviour problems, and the team having major problems with equipment, kit and training grounds.
