Entry Requirements You should be working in the industry and interested in developing your skills. Good GCSEs are an advantage, you need to be organised and motivated with good telephone skills.
Content / Overview
Good customer service is essential to make any business successful. It is a skill which is used by and in every organisation. As a Customer Service apprentice, you’ll probably work at the front end of an employer’s business activities and regularly assist customers. Duties will vary between sectors, but in most cases you’ll be making sure that customers are dealt with in a positive, reliable and pleasant way – whether that’s by offering advice, answering questions or handling complaints.
Completing this Apprenticeship is a way of providing evidence of skills that will serve you well in virtually any industry – so it’s a very good way to move forward, even if you’re still undecided about your future career.
Delivery Method Training is delivered in the workplace and an assessor will monitor your progress and conduct assessments in the workplace.
Assessment Continuous assessment throughout the course in the workplace, through the creation of a portfolio of evidence and a technical certificate. An assessor will visit your workplace regularly to assess your progress.
Progression You can move on to the Advanced Apprenticeship. Customer service is a fundamental to many occupations and will give you the opportunity to progress from a technical or practical background to management and supervisory levels.
Homework You may have to complete sections of your portfolio outside of College or working hours.
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position. There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding.
