Entry Requirements You must have worked in construction and have at least two years as site manager or trainee site manager. You will be required to join the CIOB as a student member. For further information on joining please visit ciob.org.uk
Successful candidates are offered places on the course.
Content / Overview This course is designed to meet the needs of those employed in, or training for, site management. You complete six modules for the Certificate.
Modules include: Project planning; Managing the quality of site work; managing health, safety, welfare and risk control at work; Improving managerial skills; Contractual and legal responsibilities; Managing technology of site work.
Delivery Method The course is taught through lectures, group projects work and discussions.
Assessment Assessments are through individual course work and group project work.
Progression Advance to Diploma stage followed by Direct Membership of CIOB examination and full membership of CIOB. The course is nationally recognised and holders of the Diploma in Site Management of The Chartered Institute of Building are entitled to become Associate Members of the Institute.

This has enabled students who have studied here to find employment with contractors, both locally and nationally. We have developed close links for many years with companies in the construction industry.
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position. There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding.
