Why Guildford College?
Deciding where and what to study after GCSEs are possibly some of the most important and life changing choices your son or daughter will make. We understand the challenges facing them as they take the next step in their education and aim to provide you as parents with more information about the College and the services and support available.
Guildford College is Surrey’s largest general further and higher education college with two main campuses at Stoke Park| and Merrist Wood|. Stoke Park has been in existence for over 60 years and has industry standard resources and facilities. Merrist Wood is a 400 acre, multi award winning campus specialising in land-based programmes and boasting an excellent reputation locally, nationally and internationally, both for its provision and for work from the estate.
At our last Ofsted Inspection in July 2009, the College was graded "good" overall with "outstanding provision in land-based, equine and animal Care". Inspectors also commented that "success rates were well above national averages", "teachers build good working relationships with their students that are focused on promoting effective learning" and "advice, guidance and support for students are good".
The College prides itself on matching the right qualification to the right student. Every student has a detailed pre-course interview to discuss the course and their future plans and all courses start with an induction programme. If, after the start of the course, it becomes apparent that another subject or level would be more appropriate, it is possible to transfer to a different course.
We are committed to helping your son or daughter succeed and to partnering you in that process. If at any stage you would like to discuss their progress, please contact us|.
