The Government funds and regulates adult Further Education and skills training in England. Content / Overview 

This Level 3 Introductory Diploma prepares you for an exciting career in Travel and Tourism. Develop the skills and qualities needed for work or Higher Education, and explore the opportunities offered in the travel industry.

All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.

You will use our realistic Airline Cabin Crew training facility and live booking sysyem to enable you to develop the skills and qualities you need for work and explore the opportunities offered in this exciting industry.

Alternatively, the successful completion of this course will enable you to progress to an Extended Diploma which attracts UCAS points should you be wishing to progress to University.

Entry Requirements

At least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C) or above, including Maths and English Language. Alternatively you should have achieved a Travel & Tourism Level 2 Diploma at Merit or above.



Delivery Method

You'll be taught by qualified staff with first hand travel & tourism industry experience.


Homework

Weekly homework will include theory, assignment and portfolio building, and revision.

Assessment

A variety of assessment methods including assignments, presentations, case studies, role play, research projects and course work.

This qualification is assessed through assignment work. There are no exams. The types of assessments used are written assignments, case studies, role plays and presentations.


Further Study

Successful completion of the Introductory Level 3 Diploma will lead to the Extended Diploma in Travel & Tourism. This could then lead to studying a degree level course in Travel and Tourism at university.


Additional Information



All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position.

There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding (identified as 'no fee remission available on this course').
