Fees and dates are based on academic year 2019-20 and are intended as a guide only. We will update the fees and dates for 2020-21 as soon as we have them and according to government funding and guidelines.
The Government funds and regulates adult Further Education and skills training in England. They pay a proportion of the cost to deliver the course and expect the student, or a sponsor, to pay the remaining portion. This is referred to as the ‘tuition fees’ and is what we display on our guide. If a course or a learner is not eligible for government funding the Full Cost /international fees will be liable. Please refer to our International fees page for more information.
Please note that the fees for government funded courses relate to ONE academic year only and may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, including changes to Government funding and remission policies, so before enrolling on a course please check with the College for the latest information. The College also reserves the right to close, or not to start any published course.

Content / Overview
The Level 2 Laser course in Business & IT will help to introduce you to the world of business and IT while building on your core transferrable skills. This one year course is a combination of theory with practical exercises over a range of mandatory and optional units.
In addition to weekly lessons you will be supported to find and complete one week's work experience in an area related to your career goals.

In addition to the main programme, this course also includes a weekly group tutorial session. All learners are expected to attend weekly English/Maths GCSE/ Functional Skills if grade on entry is below Level 4

This course offers insights into business or IT processes and is a pathway onto some level 3 qualifications. This course will also help to prepare students for employment and /or work based learning.

There are no subject specific entry requirements for this course however we require a minimum of four grade 3 GCSEs as well as satisfactory school references and a successful interview with a member of the business team within the college
This course is taught full time over 1 academic year, through a variety of teaching methods and practical investigations.
Homework will be set on a regular basis to support learning in the classroom
Your achievement will be assessed on an ongoing basis allowing you to see your progress. This course is 100% assignment based; these assignments are internally marked. There are no exams in the main qualification.
Learners may progress onto a Level 3 course, an Apprenticeship or another Level 2 course
All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position.
There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding (identified as 'no fee remission available on this course').
