This course is a knowledge -based qualification that has been designed to support practical-based qualifications in hospitality and catering. The qualification will develop your knowledge and understanding of the principles of customer service, hospitality and catering.

Entry Requirements

English and maths achievment at level 1, 3 GCSEs at grade 3.

Delivery Method

The course is taught through practical and theoretical training in the Park room restaurant and kitchens.The theoretical aspects of the qualification are taught in our theory rooms.


Every week to cover the theoretical aspects of the course.


Continuous assessment takes place on the theoretcial aspects of the course, there are also some tests.

Further Study

On completion of the course you will be able to contunue your studies and progress on to level 3 in hospitality or catering or find a job within the industry.

All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position.

There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding (identified as 'no fee remission available on this course').
