Content / Overview 

This course is ideal for you if you wish to pursue a career in hairdressing. You will learn the skills needed to succeed in your area, for example, women's hairdressing, barbering or colouring. You will study: monitoring and maintaining health and safety practice in the salon, hairdressing consultation support for colleagues, and creative style and dress hair using various techniques.

You will also choose from optional units which could include: creative cutting, creative colouring, bridal and creating an image

Entry Requirements

You should have achieved the Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, plus have Maths or English Language at GCSE grade 4 (grade C) or working towards GCSE maths and English.



Delivery Method

This course is taught with practical and theory lessons in the salon.


Assessment

The course is theory and practically based with online tests and practical assessment work in each unit.


Further Study

You could progress on to work in salons, department stores, hotels or health spas.


Additional Information

You should allow for the following additional costs: uniform, equipment, essential book list (to be advised), files and resources at a cost of approximately £110.



All students aged 19 years or over on 1 September in the first year of their course are expected to pay tuition, registration, exam fees and all other course related costs. Some assistance with these costs may be available depending on your circumstances and the latest government funding position.

There are normally no tuition, registration or examination fees to pay if you are aged 16-18 on 1 September in the first year of your course and are a British or European Union resident. This does not apply to HNCs/Ds, Foundation Degrees, Degrees or courses that do not attract government funding (identified as 'no fee remission available on this course').
