The team are here to support our students on their journey through College by helping them make informed decisions about their future education, employment and training options. We offer a welcoming, supportive and impartial service where students can explore their skills, qualities, strengths and interests and plan their future career.
All students are supported by a personal tutor who will help you in developing your academic, professional and personal skills so that you are able to do your best on your chosen course. You see your personal tutor for group tutorials and on a regular one-to-one basis when you will create targeted plans to help you to achieve your goals.

The College Accommodation Team supports students in our Halls of Residence at Merrist Wood College. We also offer a Residential Bursary Scheme to assist qualifying students with costs. To be eligible for the Residential Bursary Scheme you need to be studying your first full-time Level 2 or 3 vocational course and unable to find a similar course locally to your home (within reasonable travelling distance). Students from all faiths and cultures are welcomed by the College. Support can be offered to students to support their religion. The Retreat at Guildford College is a dedicated room for prayer and reflection.
We are fully committed to widening participation and supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities. Students with dyslexia, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, emotional or behavioural difficulties have access to individual support and specialist help where needed.
If you are a Higher Education student, you can apply for a Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) if you have a disability, long-term health condition, mental health condition or a specific learning difficulty like dyslexia. Student Protection Plan
Activate Learning is committed to protecting the interests of students and applicants in the event of any disruption which may adversely affect their studies, including the closure of a Higher Education programme. Every year the International Centre helps over 1000 students from 100 different countries. We provide airport transfers and can advise you on finding accommodation, jobs, banking, insurance and health service registration.
