Summer-Jane Jackson wins a silver award in the Body Art category of World Skills UK National Finals
Three talented Guildford College Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-up students made it to this year’s UK National Finals of World Skills competition which recently took place at the NEC in Birmingham.
Having progressed through the regional heats whilst studying at the College, competition entrants Summer-Jane Jackson, Chloe Madico and Charlotte Nash have now progressed on to working within the industry or studying at university but still maintain close links with the Beauty Department and their tutor and mentor Jaceyann Smith and all chose to represent Guildford College at the competition.
Summer-Jane placed silver in the Body-Art category with her stunning interpretation on the theme ‘Weather Patterns’. A creation based on how different weather affects a tree, her intricate artwork featured glowing make-up paint which lit up under an ultra violet light.
Chloe Madico and Charlotte Nash, who placed 1st and 2nd in the Commercial Make-Up category of the London and South East Regional Finals competition, went on to create stunning looks based around the theme ‘Going Viral’.
