Some of the senior team at Guildford College, part of Activate Learning, were recently pleased to welcome MP for Guildford, Angela Richardson, to its campus on Stoke Road. The staff discussed with Ms Richardson how the college has been operating throughout the lockdown period, plans for the safe return of its students in September and also to give her a tour of some of the fantastic facilities available to learners, including a sneak peek of the new Care Suite which is being installed for training Health & Social Care students from September this year.
Angela was met by Sally Dicketts, CEO of Activate Learning, Sue Sturgeon, Governor, Neil Brookes, Head of Campus, Student Experience and Transition, and Alan Jones, Group Facilities Manager, who showed her some much needed keys areas of investment that the college has recently benefitted from since its merger with the Activate Learning Group in 2019.
CEO, Sally Dicketts, said of the visit: “Guildford College Activate Learning were delighted to invite Angela Richardson at a time when the Government is really embracing technical skills and FE. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about our areas of work and excited about our upcoming Care Suite which will train and develop staff for the NHS.”
Angela Richardson, MP, said: “It’s been great to visit Guildford College, part of Activate Learning, to see all of the different courses that they offer. This is a wonderful asset for the community. The future is FE.”
