Care Skills Training Centre
The Care Skills Training Centre at Guildford College gives students a unique insight into careers in clinical health and social care.
We offer a range of activities tailored to your educational and training needs. With a six-bed simulated hospital ward, fully equipped home care room and a fully immersive learning space, we provide the hands-on, practical, learning experiences that students need.
Our Care Skills Training Centre at Guildford College provides acute clinical and residential care facilities for simulated teaching and learning. Learners will have the opportunity to practice and refine the skills they need to make them ready for life in the workplace.
As well as using the facilities for our own learning programmes, we are keen to help meet the training and development needs of local health care organisations, schools and colleges.

Simulated Hospital Ward
Fully immerse yourself in a realistic, clinical environment and learn essential clinical and caring skills.
Our simulation mannequins allow students to learn care skills in a safe but realistic way. As a mock A&E department, the care suite gives students the opportunity to practice basic and advanced observational skills, first aid, emergency care, drug administration and wound dressing.
Each of our six beds is monitored via plasma screens and has allocated IT diagnostic equipment allowing more advanced students the opportunity to practice their skills independently.
The immersive space at Guildford College uses cutting-edge projection equipment to simulate a variety of environments. Images are projected onto the walls of the learning environment through 360 degrees, making you feel a real part of the action. From operating theatres to deep dives inside the human body, you will see it all!
Fully Equipped Home Care Room
Our home care room has been designed to replicate a real-life home environment. Visitors can practice in-home care provision and independent living promotion for the elderly, or those requiring care in their own or residential home.
The home care room includes a seating area and bedroom, plus a fully equipped bathroom with hoist and bathroom aids. The room is fully equipped with all the aids needed to care for people with a range of different health conditions.
